Just over two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to check out the first collaboration between Lululemon and the 2016 Canadian Beach Volleyball Team for this year’s Olympic Games. Sufficed to say, I want every piece in each colorway — including the menswear. Known for its fashion forward athletic wear, the Canadian brand created an incredible set of bikinis, tanks, shorts and more for the athletes. The project was led by Led by Creative Director Lee Holman with the help of Whitespace, Lululemon’s in-house R&D experts.

Created over six months, the resulting custom designs boast cutting edge technology and fabrics to ensure the best performances possible. Yet I couldn’t help but be drawn to the look, which Lululemon design director Clare Robertson drew from the sport’s electrifying rallies, blocks and spikes for inspiration. With its “Fade to Glory” gradient print, the Canadian Beach Volleyball Team stands out proudly from the rest of its competition.

And now that the games have officially started, we get to see the pieces in action! Replicas of the designs, including Game Day Tops, Chambers Sweatpants and more, are available in stores now for those who want to show their support for the team.
