I can’t think of a better way to head up north than in a sports coupé. I got to test drive the BMW 4 Series last long weekend and was it ever a ride. This sleek two-door vehicle not only got my besties and I to the cottage in style, but also in record time. Yet for all of its sportiness, there was plenty of room for us girls and all of our bags — because, let’s face it, you know we overpacked for a two-day getaway.

Perfect for an impromptu escape from the city.

Comfortable, smooth and full of attitude, the BMW 4 Series lends itself to be a ride as much about function as it is about form. Yes, you might want to take it out for a spin based solely on adrenaline (that sport mode!), but it was surprisingly perfect for an impromptu escape from the city as well. While others may have opted for a typical SUV or larger sedan for country driving, I’m so happy we got to drive in something a little — scratch that, a lot — more exciting. Of course, the best part was it’s efficiency on gas. Yes, I said it…I’m very much a practical girl.
