Running is a tough sport even on the best of days and so is life. Runners are constantly told to listen to their bodies and I think that’s an invaluable piece of advice anyone can use on a day-to-day basis. From the head to the heart and, of course, the gut, it’s vital to take stock of what’s working and what’s not. After all, limping through life is far from cute.
From time to time, check in with your head, heart and gut…
I’m guilty of doing none of the above. As hard-headed as they come, I often skip my stretches and definitely those crucial cold baths. As for life? Hard truths are ignored for little white lies and doses of reality are replaced with irresistible fantasies. From time to time, check in with your head, heart and gut to ensure you’re not straying too far from real life, because it would be a shame to miss out on what’s really happening for flights of fancy that hold no true meaning at all.
Just a running thought.
