Today, my Nike family collided with my Myodetox family. The results? Amazing. Nike took over the Myodetox Performance arena to show a few of us that to be a better runner, you need to do more than run and to be a better athlete, you need to do more than train.

What better way to reinforce this message than by putting us through a program designed by Canada Athletic’s Head Coach, Jeff Huntoon? With Eva Redpath and Rejean Chiasson taking us through his plans, it’s safe to say we had much more respect for the training such athletes go through.

Essentially elevating the moves in the NTC+ app, the Myodetox Performance facility was the perfect place to kick some asses into high gear. I don’t want to spoil too much of what will be taking place on Sunday at Steam Whistle (in Toronto), but it involves a lot of footwork, upper body strength and agility. It will be interesting to see how Nike interprets Myodetox’s training space in the iconic building.

On another note, I’m very excited to try out a Myodetox Performance class now! With all the manual therapy I’ve received from the crew, I want to see just how much my body’s opened up. With their expert guidance, I’m sure it’ll be a huge improvement.

The natural mobility afforded by the Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit for running and Nike Free RN Flyknit for training, which we trialled today, alone gave me hope that I’ve made strides to be a better athlete. Now to work on that upper body strength…

P.S. Stretch and hydrate (maybe at the same time like me lol).
