Back in September I stopped by the Tastemakers Lounge during TIFF and walked away with a sweet swag bag that happened to include a gift certificate to the|fix|, “a boutique comprehensive chiropractic and massage clinic,” as described on its site. And a boutique is certainly is.

As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted not only be a friendly receptionist, but also a wall of snacks including a fine selection of candies. I’m immediately sold even though a single finger has yet to touch my body. Clearly such details go a long way for me.

Dr. Liza Egbogah, the owner of this chic clinic, is a treat in and of herself. Smartly dressed as though she were a fashion editor rather than a doctor of chiropractic, there is an immediate sense of camaraderie when you meet her. Like two best friends gabbing over a glass of wine, she asked me a few of the standard questions before we got into a more casual conversation that I surprisingly didn’t mind continue as she expertly massaged all the kinks out of my body.

I’m pretty hard on my body with all of the running and not enough of the stretching. So I’m relieved that I’ve found a place that I truly want to return to for more regular treatments. Dr. Liza has truly created a home away from home, one that is made for big kids with a love for all things beautiful.
